History Of Offa

Offa Local Government is situated in the southern part of Kwara State, Nigeria. Offa Local Government was created in 1991, with its headquarters located in Offa. The local government area is subdivided into 10 wards. Key towns within Offa Local Government include Adeleke, Igbewere, Igbadu, and Offa itself.

As of the 2006 census, Offa Local Government had a population of 90,000 inhabitants. Offa is known for its vibrant economy, with a focus on trade, commerce, and agriculture. The cultivation of sweet potatoes and maize is particularly notable, and the town is sometimes referred to as the "home of sweet potatoes." Additionally, Offa has large deposits of granite, contributing to economic activities in the region.
