History Of Oju

Oju local government area is situated in Benue State, Nigeria. It shares borders with Obi and Gwer East to the north, Konshisha and Yala to the east, Izzi and Ebonyi to the south, and Ado to the west.

Oju LGA is made up of several towns and villages, including Adokpa, Idelle, Okudu, Owo, Ukpa, Obonioye, Ibilla, Ainu, and Iyeche. As of 2022, the total population of Oju LGA is reported to be 243,300 inhabitants. 

Oju LGA is mostly inhabited by members of the Igede ethnic group, and the Igede language is commonly spoken in the area.
