History Of Oke-Ero

Oke-Ero Local Government was created in 1996 from Ekiti Local Government Area, with its headquarters located at Iloffa. The local government area is divided into 10 wards, and it is organized into districts including Iloffa/Odo-Owa, Idofin, and Ekan-Meje. Oke-Ero covers an area of 438 km⊃2;.

The population at the 2006 census was 57,619. The major towns in Oke-Ero include Iloffa, Odo-Owa, Ayedun, Idofin, and Ekan. The people of Oke-Ero are primarily engaged in farming, with a focus on the production of palm oil.
