History Of Omumma

Omuma Local Government Area is situated in Rivers State, Nigeria, within the South-South geopolitical zone of the country. Its headquarters are in the town of Eberi. The population is (100,366 population and 170 km2 area) are as per the 2006 census. Omuma Local Government Area was created in the year 1989.

Omuma LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Umuabali, Umuroke, Eberi, Egbelu, Umuokwa, Umuoroyo, and Umudik. The people of Omuma are predominantly Igbo, and Christianity is widely practiced in the area. The LGA hosts various festivals, including the Ogwu Ekpeye festival.
