History Of Rano

Rano Local Government Area is situated in Kano State, Nigeria, within the southern senatorial district, also known as Kano South Senatorial District. The administrative headquarters of Rano LGA is in the town of Rano.

According to the 2006 census, Rano LGA had a population of approximately 145,439 inhabitants. Rano LGA covers a land area of 520 square kilometers. Rano is predominantly a Hausa-Fulani community, reflecting the broader demographic makeup of Kano State.

Rano LGA shares boundaries with Garun Mallam and Bunkure LGAs to the north, Kibiya LGA to the east, Tudun Wada LGA to the south, and Bebeji LGA to the west.
