History Of Remo North

Remo North Local Government Area in Ogun State, Nigeria. The headquarters of Remo North is in the town of Isara at coordinates 7°00′N 3°41′E. It has an area of 199 km⊃2;. The population of Remo North was recorded as 59,911 at the 2006 census.

The local government area comprises several towns, including Ilara, Isara, Ode-Remo, Hara, Akaka, Ipara, and Orile-Oko. Remo North Local Government Area was created in 1996 from Ikenne Local Government by the administration of Late Gen. Sani Abacha.

It is bounded to the East by Ijebu North, to the South West by Ikenne and Obafemi/Owode Local Government, and to the North by Oyo State. Remo North is described as richly endowed with large mineral deposits, serving as raw materials for various manufacturing industries.
