Tai Local Government Area is ocated in Rivers State, Nigeria, with an area spanning 159 square kilometers, Tai LGA is home to a population of 117,797 residents, as recorded in the 2006 Census. Situated within the Okrika/Oyigbo/Tai/Eleme constituency of the Nigerian Senate. The administrative headquarters of Tai LGA is situated in Sakpenwa.
The majority of the population in Tai LGA is comprised of Ogoni people, who predominantly speak the Tee and Baan languages. Various communities constitute Tai LGA, including Ban-Ogoi, Bara-Ale, Bara-Alue, Barayira, Borobara, Botem, Bunu, Deeyor Kira, Gbam, Gbene-Ue, Horo, Kebara Kira, Korokoro, Koroma, Kpite, Nonwa Tai, Nonwa Uedume, Orkpo, Sime, Ueken, Kporghor, and Gio.
