Tangaza Local Government Area is situated in Sokoto State, Nigeria. The headquarters of Tangaza LGA are located in the town of Gidan Madi Covering an area of 2,477 square kilometers, Tangaza LGA had a population of 113,853 as recorded in the 2006 census. The local government area shares a border with the Republic of Niger to the north.
Tangaza LGA comprises various towns and villages, including Sakkwai, Kalanjemi, Gongono, Raka, Suti, Mafonho, Gurdam, and Gidan Madi. The estimated population of Tangaza LGA stands at 259,848 inhabitants, primarily consisting of members of the Hausa/Fulani ethnic groups. As such, the Hausa language is predominantly spoken in Tangaza LGA.
