History Of Tarmuwa

Tarmuwa Local Government Area is located in Yobe State, Nigeria, in the northeastern region. Its headquarters is in the town of Babangida at coordinates 12°06′27″N 11°45′14″E.

The LGA covers an area of 4,594 square kilometers and had a population of 177,204 according to the 2006 census. However, recent estimates suggest a population of around 212,844 inhabitants. The postal code for Tarmuwa LGA is 620.

Tarmuwa LGA shares boundaries with Bursari, Jakusko, Damaturu, Potiskum, and Nangere LGAs. Tarmuwa LGA comprises various towns and villages, including Babangida, Jajere, Mashio, Zogoto, Mafa, Sungul, Koka, and Konyel. The majority of Tarmuwa's population consists of members of the Kanuri, Hausa, and Fulani ethnic groups. The Kanuri language is spoken alongside other languages in the area.
