History Of Ukanafun

Ukanafun Local Government Area is located in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria, within Akwa Ibom State. Ukanafun was carved out from Abak and Opobo divisions of Cross River State.

Some of the villages that make up Ukanafun Local Government Area include Akoyo, Ikot Ibekwe, Nkek, Ikot Uko, Nto Okon, Ikot Etim, Nkek Idim, Ikot Akai, and others.

The estimated population of Ukanafun LGA is reported to be 153,481 inhabitants. The majority of the area's population belongs to the Annang ethnic group, and the Annang language is widely spoken in the LGA.
