History Of Umuahia North

Umuahia North is a Local Government Area (LGA) in the state of Abia, Nigeria. The LGA is located in the northern part of the state and its headquarters is in the town of Umuahia. The LGA has an area of 318 km⊃2; and a population of over 200,000 people. The majority of the residents are of the Igbo ethnic group and the main languages spoken are English and Igbo. The main economic activities in the area include agriculture, trade, and small-scale industries.

It is bordered by Bende Local Government Area to the north, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area to the west, Ikwuano Local Government Area to the south, and Ohafia Local Government Area to the east.
