Umuahia South is a Local Government Area (LGA) in Abia State, Nigeria. Umuahia South Local Government Area was created in 1991 from the old Umuahia Local Government Area.
The LGA is located in the southeastern part of Abia State and is made up of several towns and villages. Some of the major towns in Umuahia South LGA include Umudike, Umuobasi, Umuosu, and Umuosu-Alu.
