Ushongo Local Government Area located in Benue State, situated in the North-central geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The headquarters of Ushongo Local Government Area is in Lessel town.

Ushongo LGA has an area of 1,228 km2 (474 sq mi). According to the 2006 census, Ushongo had a population of 188,341. The current estimated population of Ushongo LGA is put at 214,357 inhabitants.
