History Of Ussa

Ussa Local Government Area (LGA) is located in Taraba State, Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA are situated in the town of Lissam.
Ussa shares a border with the Republic of Cameroon to the south, while the Donga River forms its northern boundary.

Ussa LGA was created in 1996 during the regime of General Sani Abacha. Ussa LGA covers an area of 1,495 square kilometers (577 sq mi). According to the 2006 census, the population of Ussa LGA was recorded at 92,017 inhabitants.

The Kuteb people are the predominant ethnic group in Ussa, with a large population residing in the area. Some of the district councils within Ussa LGA include Aticwo (Kpambo), Rufu, Lumbu, Fikyu, Acha, and Kpambo Puri. The postal code for Ussa LGA is 671.
