History Of Vandeikya

Vandeikya Local Government Area in Benue State, located in the South Eastern part of the state. The administrative headquarters of Vandeikya Local Government Area is in the town of Vandeikya.

Vandeikya has a population of well over 80,288. The estimated current population is put at 183,200 inhabitants. Vandeikya shares boundaries with Obudu and Bekwara in Cross River State to the East, Ushongo to the North, and Konshisha LGA to the West.

There are twelve administrative council wards in Vandeikya. Vandeikya LGA was carved out of Gboko Local Government Council in 1976. Vandeikya is the indigenous community of the Kunav people who speak the Tiv language. Some towns and villages in Vandeikya LGA include Mingev, Mbaka-Ange, Mbaduka, Mbagbera, Mbayongo, Mbara, Ute, Mbava, and Tsambe.
