History Of Yagba West

Yagba West Local Government Area is in Kogi State, Nigeria. It is situated in the western part of the state and shares a border with Kwara State. The headquarters of Yagba West Local Government Area is in the town of Odo Ere. Yagba West has an area of 1,276 square kilometers.
The population was reported to be 149,023 at the 2006 census, and it grew to 188,900 by 2016.

Yagba West LGA is made up of several towns and villages, including Odosin, Egbe, Okunran, Iyemerin, Iddo, Okoloke, Igbaraku, Ejiba, Ogbe, and Akaka. The local government is predominantly occupied by members of the Okun ethnic sub-division of the Yoruba tribe. The Okun dialect of the Yoruba language is primarily spoken in the LGA.
