10 Favourites To Win Best Young Player Award At 2022 FIFA World Cup

10 Favourites To Win Best Young Player Award At 2022 FIFA Wo

Football has offered an opportunity for many young players to demonstrate their talent and dedication to the sport.

There are always benefits and downsides; some stand out while others experience failure.

Every year, we see such young players make their imprint in football and become integral members of the team.

The 2022 world cup is loaded with young players who are ready to help their nation win the tournament.

But who will be chosen as the finest young player? Young players who could be prospective candidates for the award are listed below.

10. Ricardo Pepi

The United States did not qualify for the 2018 World Cup. However, with Christian Pulisic and Giovanni Reyna at their disposal, they are looking sharp once more. Keep an eye on Ricardo Pepi, a teenager who has proven to be a revelation.

He was loaned to Augsburg in the Bundesliga, but he failed to impress and was loaned to Groningen in the Netherlands.

Pepi has rediscovered his stride and he is now an important player for the United States at the ongoing 2022 World Cup.

9. Anthony

Antony has always been a capable player who thrives in any situation. His talent was overlooked even at Ajax.

He has, however, been outstanding since joining Manchester United for such a high fee.

He is a little more unpredictable, cutting onto his left foot and curling the ball into the far left corner.

Although he faces competition because Brazil has a plethora of top right-flank players, his current form could propel him into Brazil's World Cup roster.

8. Ibrahim Konate

Konate is the ideal backup for Raphael Varane, who is ruled out of the World Cup owing to injury.

He has missed the majority of the season due to injuries. Jurgen Klopp, on the other hand, has shown complete faith in him, and the 23-year-old has delivered.

He is now a key defender for Liverpool and has been selected for the Nations League.

The speed, strength, and technique of Konate have been compared to that of his Liverpool teammate, Virgil van Dijk.

He is a threat in the air and with his crisp tackles and willingness to close down on strikers, he could be a contender for the World Cup's Young Player Award.

7. William Saliba

Saliba joined Arsenal in 2019 but struggled to adjust and played in only a few games. He was then loaned to Nice, where he developed into a capable defender.

The youngster returned to Arsenal and failed to demonstrate his abilities once more.

He was loaned out again to Marseille, where he matured into a skilled player and won numerous individual awards.

He is now back at Arsenal, where he is the most important defender and is now the Premier League's best defender, alongside Martinez.

Saliba will undoubtedly be a rock for France in the ongoing World Cup in 2022.

6. Aurelien Tchouameni

When Casemiro left Real Madrid for Manchester United, the midfield trinity of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, and Casemiro came to an end, leaving Real Madrid unsure of who to replace him with.

Aurelien Tchouameni emerged as a player of note, with several major clubs interested in the Monaco midfielder.

Many European clubs were interested in Aurelien Tchouameni, but he chose Real Madrid, and it appears that Real's defensive midfield problem has been solved for the next ten years.

Despite his young age, he now plays every match due to his tactical understanding, technical ability, and excellent positioning.

He is already an important player for the World Cup champions.

5. Alphonso Davies

His rise has been encouraging and in the 2019-2020 season, the Canadian-born footballer had the world at his feet.

At the age of 14, he joined the MLS's Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency, and his development was so rapid that he was signed by Bayern Munich in 2015. Since then, he has been the club's regular left-back.

Davies is the first Canadian to win the Champions League and has inspired many of his country's players.

He was also a mainstay during Canada's first World Cup qualification in 36 years.

4. Jude Bellingham

Several European clubs have shown interest in the England international. He is a fantastic midfielder who despite being only 19 plays like he has had years of experience.

Bellingham's four goals in four Champions League matches are quite impressive for a midfielder who is poised to establish himself at the World Cup.

He is an excellent ball carrier and dynamic midfielder who drives the team forward and can dismantle defences.

3. Gavi

Gavi, an aggressive player known for his hard work, has already made a name for himself after winning the Kopa trophy and Golden Boy award this season.

At 17, he became Barcelona’s dominant player and was called up to the Spanish national team for the Nations League, becoming Spain’s youngest player in history.

Gavi has already demonstrated his sincere dedication to the game. He plays with conviction and applies intense pressure until he reclaims possession of the ball.

His performance is already shining brightly at the ongoing World Cup.

2. Pedri

Pedri, like Gavi, was a teenager who shone at Barcelona at the age of 17 and is now an important player for the club.

His club brilliance is unrivalled and despite being only 19, he is already playing a pivotal role for Enrique at the World Cup.

He played in 73 games last season, was a regular starter for Spain at Euro 2020, and also competed in the Olympics.

Considering how influential he was at 18 and how his smooth passes can affect the game, he is one of the favourite candidates to win the award.

1. Jamal Musiala

Germany has never been shy about producing young talent and Musiala has shown promise as a future star.

The 19-year-old has contributed to nine goals in Bayern's first nine matches this season - five goals and four assists - demonstrating why he has burst onto the scene this season and at such an opportune time.

He is not afraid to take on defenders and can create chances for his teammates; at the age of 19, he understands the game so well, and Germany is fortunate to have him at the World Cup.
