11 Colombian Police Injured In Explosive Attack

At least 11 Colombian police officers were injured in an explosive attack on their truck in the city of Cali.

The country's President, Ivan Duque said on Saturday that the truck was badly damaged in the blast.

Duque said on Twitter that; "We condemn the terrorist attack against members of the Mobile Anti-Riot Squad and we sympathize with the 11 officers wounded in the attack."

Cali is the third-largest city in Colombia and one of the most violent in the country. With a 2.2 million population, it is also one of the biggest coca cultivation areas in Colombia, which is the world’s largest cocaine producer.

Colombia has seen an increase in violence in recent months due to fighting over territory and resources by rebel groups and drug cartels.
