12 Feared Dead In Nairobi Ghastly Auto Crash.

Twelve people including teachers and students are feared dead following an accident involving a bus and a Nissan matatu in Naivasha along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway, Kenya on Thursday, March 30, 2023.

Police, citizens, and members of the Naivasha fire department are all participating in the rescue efforts.

According to recent accounts, Pwani University students were engaged in the gruesome mishap in Naivasha's Kayole-Karai neighbourhood following a suspected break failure.

The collision between a Pwani University van and a 14-seater matatu resulted in at least 12 fatalities, according to the latest reports.

Tom Odera, the head of the Rift Valley police, claimed that 12 people perished immediately and that there may be more fatalities.

“The bus rolled and killed 12 on the spot. We may have more casualties,” he said

He disclosed that before the unfortunate occurrence, there were about 30 people on the bus, including teachers and students who were travelling to a sporting event.

According to Odera, the bus's driver lost control and collided with at least five cars before rolling into a ditch. 

Several injured persons were taken to nearby hospitals for immediate medical attention.
