In two separate motor crash that happened on Ilorin-Jebba-Mokwa highway in Kwara, thirteen persons were reportedly killed.
The accident which happened on Thursday involved a vehicle travelling from Lagos and another fully-loaded vehicle from Sokoto.
It was reported that the Lagos vehicle rammed into a trailer while attempting to avoid the Lagos bus, the Sokoto vehicle lost control and crashed into the bush.

While confirming the accident, the Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Commission, (FRSC), Gbenga Owoade, blamed the accident on the drivers involved in the accident.
According to the FRSC boss, the vehicle drivers’ insensitivity and carelessness led to the accident.
He said “In the first one, we had 11 people that died instantly on the spot. Two persons died in the second crash, while one of the two corpses had been taken away by his family members.”
Owoade confirmed that the corpse of the thirteen victims has been deposited at the mortuary of the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.
He further added that the eight people that were injured had been transferred to a private hospital in Bode-Saadu, the headquarters of Moro Local Government Area of the state.
