150 Tsangaya Schools Benefit From Teaching Aid

The Kano State Government has distributed teaching and learning materials to about a hundred and fifteen Tsangaya schools  in Warawa local government area.

A statement signed by the local government’s information officer, Salisu Kassim Yakasai on Thursday said the chairman of the area, Yusuf Abdullahi Dansalan distributed the items at the local government education authority secretariat on Wednesday.

Danlasan was quoted as saying the teachers have a vital role toward speedy development of education, calling on them to dedicate themselves towards their services.

Also speaking, the Education Secretary of the area, Ibrahim Idris Ahmed thanked the state and local government for the gesture and pledged their maximum cooperation to the development of educational services across the area. 

In his remark the coordinator of Tsangaya Qur'anic schools in the area, Said Sabo promised to utilise the materials provided judiciously.

This intervention is coming at the heels of calls to restructure the Almajiri system to prevent street begging.
