20-Year-Old Accused Of Murdering Fellow Pupil Appears In Cou

A school pupil accused of fatally stabbing a fellow student to death in Vlakfontein last week appeared in the Lenasia magistrate's court on Monday on a charge of murder.

Amogelang Nkomo, 20, was remanded in custody until December 5 to allow him to hire a lawyer.

Nkomo was apprehended on Thursday following a confrontation outside Qalabotjha Secondary School during which Sphiwe Cita was fatally stabbed to death.

The investigation into the death of Sphiwe Cita is still ongoing.

The sad incident has led to several protests in schools in South Africa by parents who are demanding justice.

South African high schools are known for violent behaviours among pupils who are either in one gang or the other.
