The British high commission to Nigeria, Catriona Laing has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for signing into law the 2020 Police Bill.
Catriona Laing via her official Twitter handle disclosed that the 2020 Police Bill is a step towards modernization of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF).

Her tweet reads thus “This is excellent news. The Nigeria Police Bill is a key step towards the modernisation of @PoliceNG. @UKinNigeria is proud to have played our part in supporting the development of the Bill through our partners.

AllNews understands that the 2020 Police Bill "repeals the Police Act Cap. P19. Laws of the Federation, 2004."
It is expected to make the Police Force more "effective and well-organized", as the Force will be charged with the "transparency and accountability" in the discharging of its duties.
