2022 Foundry Class: YouTube Selects Joeboy, Black Sherif, Ot

YouTube Music has announced that out of 30 musicians from 15 different nations, Joeboy and Black Sherif were chosen for this year's Foundry Class.

Naomi Zeichner, Lead for YouTube Artist Partnerships, in a statement on Tuesday, said the seminar comprised musicians from various genres.

Nigeria and Ghana are represented in the class by Joeboy and Black Sheriff, respectively.

According to Zeichner, the program, which was established in 2015 and has thus far helped 250 independent artists, aims to help the artists develop viable careers on their own.

She stated that Foundry musicians were respected for their creative approaches to music and narrative and that they were seen as the next generation of entertainers.

‘’It is no small task to be an artist in 2022, working to find stability, fulfilment, and fans.

‘’Foundry Class celebrates the courage of independent artists and the communities that surround them,’’ she said.

Zeichner claims that YouTube's dedication to promoting Sub-Saharan musicians as the next generation of international music stars is furthered by the 2022 Foundry Class.

She said that the approach would guarantee the musicians a prosperous music career.

According to Addy Awofisayo, SSA YouTube Music Lead, YouTube believes that decreasing the entrance hurdle will enable music artists to develop and connect with a worldwide audience.

According to Awofisayo, Foundry would help the artists navigate a brand-new, increasingly digital industry so they could connect with fans and make money.

She claimed that Foundry was made for independent musicians who wanted to succeed on their own and who needed assistance navigating the challenges of the modern music business.

She claims that YouTube offers seed financing for content production that can be utilized for formats for making videos, support for partner strategy, and marketing promotion.

United States, Germany, Brazil, South Korea, Ghana, Nigeria, Mexico, Australia, United Kingdom, Colombia, France, Japan, India, Canada, and Netherlands are among the 15 nations represented at the Foundry Class 2022.
