2023 AFCON Qualifiers: 19 Super Eagles Players Confirmed In

A total of 19 players are now in the Super Eagles camp ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Guinea-Bissau.

The news was confirmed on Tuesday morning via the Super Eagles verified Twitter account.

The tweet read:  "Bruno Onyemaechi has arrived. 19 players in camp now.

"Akpoguma, Aribo, Lookman, Iwobi, Ajayi, Aniagboso, Uzoho, Ndidi, Bameyi, Omeruo, Onyeka, Simon, Onuachu, Osayi, Musa, Moffi, Sochima, Bassey, Onyemaechi."

This means that four players out of the 23 players invited by head coach Jose Peseiro are yet to join the Eagles in camp and they are namely, Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Ihenacho, Samuel Chukwueze and Zaidu Sanusi.

The Eagles officially opened camp on Monday and went on with their first training session.

11 players reportedly took part in the session which was mostly light workouts.

They will reconvene later today at the practice pitch of the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja to continue preparations for the double-header clash on March 24 and March 27 while expecting the remaining players to arrive at camp.
