Pan Yoruba socio-political organisation Afenifere has stated that it is in full support of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi amid the controversy trailing Bola Tinubu's 'endorsement'.
Former Afenifere leader Pa Reuben Fasoranti's purported endorsement for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flag bearer in Akure caused major division in the organisation, leading the new declaration by yet another chieftain.
While making an appearance on Channels TV's 'Sunrise Daily' programme on Monday, Gboyega Adejumo insisted that Afenifere remains fully 'Obidient'.
“Afenifere is fully Obidient. Nothing has changed. What happened in Akure ought not to happen but it is the season…
"We’ve seen quite a slew of fake endorsements. What happened in Akure was a farce, a joke", he stated.
Adejumo added that contrary to claims, 94-year-old Adebanjo remains the leader of Afenifere and not Fasoranti.
He added that Fasoranti handed over his leadership position in the organisation to Pa Adebanjo in March 2021.
