2023: Atiku, PDP Have The South — Okowa

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the coming presidential election has hinted that people within voting age in Southern Nigeria will vote for his principal and their party.

He stated this at the party’s presidential rally in Kaduna on Monday.

According to him, the party’s success in Osun state was a perfect testament that people from southern extraction fancy Atiku Abubakar’s candidacy and his party, the PDP.

“I thank God for the life of Atiku who has a solution to the problem we have in Nigeria.

"With Atiku as president, we should not go to bed hungry and He is ready to end insecurity in Northern Nigeria,” the Delta state governor further said.

He opined that voters in the three geopolitical zones in the south (south-south, southeast, southwest) are prepared to cast their votes audaciously for the party.

“When we went to Osun, they said we wouldn’t win but we went there and we won in the home state of the APC presidential candidate.

"I’m happy with what I have seen here and I thank you for your support,” Governor Okowa recounted.

In his words, the Director General of the Atiku’s Presidential Campaign Council, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state maintained that some unnamed individuals made moves to stop the party from holding a campaign rally in Kaduna State.

“They do not want us to continue with our rallies because they are not prepared.

"They haven’t constituted their campaign council and so, they want to drag us backwards,” he added.

Governor Tambuwal who stepped down for the party’s flag bearer seconded that Atiku Abubakar’s leadership is pregnant nwith economic prosperity, job creation and aa better life.

Similarly, the National Chairman of the PDP, Iyiocha Ayu decried the party’s denial of the proposed venue for the rally but was impressed with the party faithful’s resilience.

“When they go low, we go high. they wanted to stop this rally, but they can’t.

"Whether they give us the venue or not, we will do our rally on the road and win. APC has failed.

"They don’t want us to recover this country and win. Let nobody deceive himself that we are going to lose.

"We are united and will win all our elections in Kaduna,” he charged.
