2023: Atiku Says There Would Be No ASUU Strike If He Is Elec

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has stated that the present strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) would never happen under the party's administration.

ASUU has been on strike since February 14, 2022, as the union insists that the federal government must honour their 2009 agreement.

Addressing the issue government's inability to resolve the strike at the commemoration of the 2022 International Youth Day in Abuja on Friday, Atiku said that education is a fundamental right of any youth.

He said that he has been investing in education for 30 years, adding that the PDP is the best platform for individual and collective aspirations.

“Therefore, I take very strong exception to the strike by ASUU. The inability of the government to resolve that crisis will never happen under a PDP government or administration that I will oversee.

“I have been investing in education for the past 30 years... I believe the PDP provides the best platform for you to actualise your individual, collective aspirations", Atiku stated.
