President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday signed the 2023 Appropriation Bill into law.
The President signed the 2023 budget at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
According to sources, the signing was witnessed by the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila as well as other members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
During the signing, the President said his administration would ensure speedy implementation of critical infrastructural projects across the country before the end of his tenure in May.
Buhari noted that the 2023 budget which is N21.83 trillion increased by N1.32 trillion on the initial N20.51 trillion proposed by the Executive Council.
Senate President Lawan had told journalists that the budget would be signed on Tuesday.
Lawan made the revelation during the weekend shortly after a closed-door meeting with the president.
