2023: Cleric Tasks Nigerians On Peaceful Elections

A Christian Cleric, Reverend Micheal Abioye has called on Nigerians to pray for peaceful elections in Nigeria next year. 

Abioye, the Lead Clergy, Jubilee Baptist Church, Osogbo gave the advice on the sideline of a day programme organised by Awesome God Ministry International, an NGO,  on Tuesday in Osogbo. 

According to him, the peaceful conduct of the general elections rest upon fervent prayers and continuous praises for the nation. 

"What Awesome God Ministry International is doing today is to thank God for His love upon everyone in this nation since the beginning of this year 2022.  

"God inhabits in the praises of His people and always ready to show us mercy because by His mercies we are not consumed . 

"He has been so faithful for keeping us has one , despite the prevailing challenges confronting the nation in the face of some current realities."

He urged religious organisations to further encouraged their followers in praying for the peace of the nation especially in the coming presidential elections in 2023. 

Abioye praised the convener of the Awesome praise and worship in 2022 and for using the platform to pray for the nation and peaceful conduct of the general elections in 2023. 

Also, the convener of the Awesome praise and worship, Funmi Abokede, said the essence of the programme was to return all the glory to God for keeping the nation as one and to pray for the peaceful conduct of the general elections.  

Abokede said the need to also show hands of love to the less privileged neccesitated awesome praise ministry to reached out to peoples with disabilities (PWDs) and giving meaning to their lives. 

She urged Nigerians to emulate such gesture by showing love to peoples with special needs and also gratitude to Almighty God . 

Speaking with the joint convener, Tunji Jayeola and Oladeji Abokede, they said God only inhabits in the praises of His people and that brought the need for the awesome praise

The duo further said the annual programme has been a source of soul lifting to many participants in the areas of praying and praising God for His unfailing love upon them and the country.
