A coalition of religious leaders under the aegis of Nigeria Interfaith Alliance on Tuesday in Abuja endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed.

A large number of members of the group who are clerics from Christianity, Islamic and traditional religious, converged on World Harvest Church, Jikwoyi Abuja for what they tagged the flag-off of religious communities mobilization for Obi/Datti 2023.

Speaking at the event, the national president of the group, Archbishop Leonard Kawas, said it would be an injustice against the Ndigbo if the presidency remains in the north or goes to the southwest.

He said 2023 is the turn of Ndigbo and not southwest as claimed by some persons.

Also speaking at the event, the director general of the Obi/Datti campaign organization, Doyin Okupe, warned that Nigeria would be destabilized if Ndigbo fails to produce the next president.

On his part, renowned economist and Labour Party chieftain, Prof. Pat Utomi, said he is confident that Peter Obi will emerge president of Nigeria in 2023.
