The governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has said that the state is fully in support of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to become Nigeria's next president.
Fintiri declared that it is just a matter of time for Atiku to become the next president in 2023.
The optimistic Fintiri remarked to Yola on Monday while answering questions from journalists.
He noted that while the presidential hopeful had clinched the presidential ticket in 2019, he would get the ticket again.
He further reiterated that Atiku has all the necessary experience and support of the people to win.
Expressing the state's support for Atiku, Fintiri said, “I think he will be there, In sha Allah. It is a matter of time and one step.
"Politics is local, whether you are aspiring for the smallest or the highest position, you must have the base, which is home.
“This, we have provided for our leader, the former Vice President in his aspiration for the presidency of Nigeria for the 2023 general elections."
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Fintiri explained that if Atiku wins, he would tackle the challenges in the country.
Fintiri stated that Atiku, "Has the experience. He understands the dynamics of this country and I believe he would be able to close the gap, bring us together and that will solve part of the security challenges in the country."
