Ahead of the Saturday gubernatorial election in Adamawa State, Christian youths have endorsed Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's re-election bid.
The youths made the endorsement under the aegis of Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Adamawa State chapter.
The endorsement followed a critical meeting by the leadership of the Association in Yola, the state's capital.
As contained in a statement signed and made available on Tuesday by Gabriel L. Shall, chairman of the YOWICAN, the decision followed consideration of the governor's giant strides in the state.
The association noted that the governor has recorded tremendous development in education, healthcare delivery, security, infrastructure and the state's economy.
The statement added that the leadership of YOWICAN "unanimously call on all Christian Youths groups in all the Churches to turn out in their numbers and vote FINTIRI again."
Meanwhile, there was a report that the group endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Aishatu Binani as its 2023 guber candidate for the state.
Reacting to the report, the leadership of YOWICAN said the report "was a misrepresentation and concoction of fact".
"We have resolved and concluded arrangement to work round the clock to ensure victory for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to continue all his great works and developmental strides in Adamawa State."
