2023 Election: Six Political Parties Step Down For Fintiri I

Ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election on Saturday, no fewer than six political parties have stepped down for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State. 

This is coming after the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the state, Umar Mustapha, stepped down for the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Aishatu Binani in the state on Sunday.

The stepping down by the six political parties on Wednesday is a plus to the political aspiration of Fintiri who is a candidate under the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The parties that stepped down to support Fintiri's re-election bid were the Allied People's Movement (APM) led by its guber candidate, Bello Babajo, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)led by Yahaya Choli and National Rescue Movement (NRM) led by Maina Aliyu Abba.

Other candidates who led their parties to stepdown include Amron Dadsu of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Muhammad Shuwa of Action Democratic Party (ADP) and Abdulkadir Adam of Action Peoples Party (APP).

The governor who interacted with the candidates alongside their party members and supporters at the State's Government House in Yola appreciated their support. 

He reiterated his commitment to consolidate on the gains recorded in his first tenure.

Speaking on behalf of the parties and their candidates, Bello Babajo, the guber candidate of the APM noted that their decision was influenced by the giant strides of the Fintiri-led administration.
