As the 2023 general elections move closer, Omoyele Sowore joins the race for the president of Nigeria.
Sowore made the official declaration on Tuesday in Abuja.
Expressing his intentions for the country, he stated that he would focus on job creation, free education, reform pension and practice a socialist government.
Sowore stated that while he has plans of freeing all secessionists in detention if elected president, he would focus on creating a new constitution.
He noted that there is a need for Nigeria to have a new set of leaders piloting the affairs of the country.
While looking forward to ending terrorism in the country, he said he would work on improving the welfare of Nigerian troops.
He added that he will make sure civil servants enjoy N100,000 minimum wage.
“As soon as I am sworn-in on June 12, 2023, I will release all political detainees, particularly (Nnamdi) Kanu and Sunday Igboho.
"People who are asking for self-determination should not go to prison. Those in the Diaspora must also be given the right to vote during the election," stated Sowore.
