2023 Election: Yahaya Commends Peaceful Conduct, Large Turno

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has commended the peaceful conduct of the ongoing gubernatorial and state assembly elections in the state.

Governor Yahaya also commended the large turnout of voters to exercise their voting rights.

Yahaya made this known on Saturday after casting his vote alongside his wives, Asma'u and Amina Inuwa Yahaya, at the Yahaya Umaru 010 polling unit located at the Government Science Secondary School Gombe.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor described the exercise as encouraging.

He explained that there have been reports from various parts of the state indicating peaceful elections, and the readiness of voters to choose their leaders.

"With this development, I expect that the peaceful nature of Gombe should be maintained."

While calling people to desist from any act that would breach peace throughout the conduct of the election, he said the government has deployed adequate security for the election.
