Nigerians are being encouraged to get their PVCs as elections near

The Borno Government has given two days, Thursday and Friday, as public holidays for civil servants to obtain the Permanent Voters Cards (PVC).

A circular on Monday signed by the state Head of Service, Simon Malgwi, said this will enable public servants register/obtain their PVCs.

“This is to inform you that Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved Thursday and Friday being 21st and 22nd of July, 2022 as public holidays to enable civil servants and public office holders in the state to obtain their PVC,“ reads part of the circular.

It urged the civil servants to sieze the opportunity to register or obtain their cards as the 2023 elections draw nearer to enable them exercise their civic right.

As preparations for the general elections mount, states like Bauchi, Jos, Niger, Zamfara have all at some point declared public holidays to enable civil servants obtain their voting cards.
