The Borno State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated Governor Babagana Umara Zulum on his re-election victory.
Extending the congratulatory message on behalf of the journalists in the state, the chairman of the council, Dauda Iliya, described the election victory as a reflection and aspirations of the good people of the state.
He added that the people have given the governor another mandate to continue the good works he started in the state.
This was contained in a statement on Tuesday by Chiroma Ali Ibrahim, the Secretary of the council.
According to Ibrahim, the council also noted that the first four years of the Zulum administration had invested in security, education and healthcare.
He added that other areas which the governor has heavily invested in included agriculture, resettlement and rehabilitation of displaced persons and reconstrution of communities devastated by insurgency.
The council further urged the governor to consolidate on the gains recorded in his first tenure.
The Borno NUJ further appealed to the people of the state to cooperate with the governor in his effort to reposition the state which has been devastated by the Boko Haram insurgency.
