The Gombe State Commissioner of Police, CP Oqua Etim has ordered the restriction of vehicular movement and other forms of transportation within the state on election day.
The restriction is from 12 a.m to 6 p.m on the election day.
The order also exempts INEC officials, Electoral observers, Firefighters, Ambulances for emergencies and other essential services.
This was disclosed in a statement by the spokesperson of the state's police command, ASP Mahid Mu'azu Abubakar on Thursday.
"The Command warns all VIP aides and escorts to refrain from accompanying their principals and other politicians to the polling booth as that will attract stringent disciplinary measures.
"Also banned from participating in the Electoral process are quasi Security outfits such as vigilante groups, hunters, security outfits and any other voluntary organisation without legal backing," the statement added.
The commissioner further stressed that anyone found disobeying the order would be arrested and charged to court.
He said the order was to ensure a safe, secure and enabling environment for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
"The command wishes to once again enjoin all eligible electorates to be law-abiding and turn out to exercise their franchise.
