Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) star Pere Egbi has weighed in on the aftermath of the 2023 presidential election, urging Nigerians to exercise restraint and avoid protesting.
The election, which saw Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared the winner, has elicited mixed reactions from citizens across the country.
While some are threatening to take to the streets to protest against the election results, others are calling for calm and for the legal process to run its course.
In a tweet, Pere spoke out against any form of protest, warning that the government may use it as a pretext to harm citizens.
“I am against any form of protest at this moment! DO NOT PROTEST!
“They want you on the streets so that they can have a reason to harm you,” Pere wrote.
He went on to urge supporters of the Labour Party to take their grievances to court rather than resorting to protests.
“Do not protest. Let the Labour Party take this to court,” Pere tweeted.
