2023 Elections: Kano Citizens Commend Police For Peaceful Conduct

The citizens of Kano State under the aegis of the Kano Concerned Citizens Initiative (KCCI) have commended the Kano State Police Command for the peaceful conduct of the just-concluded guber and state assembly elections. 

The citizens also commended other security agencies in the state for their professionalism during the conduct of the elections.

The KCCI delegation led by Alhaji Shehu Mohammed (Sarkin Shanun Kano) visited the Kano State Commissioner of Police on Election, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, on Tuesday.

During the visit, the KCCI presented the letter of commendation to the police commissioner. 

Speaking while receiving the letter, CP Gumel said the commendation letter is dedicated to all officers and men of the command and other security agencies for making the election a success.

The CP further appreciated the people of Kano for their prayers, support and cooperation throughout the period of the elections. 

This was disclosed by SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, spokesperson of the state's police command, on Tuesday.

The commendation letter reads: ‘’The Kano Concerned Citizens Initiative (KCCI), has observed with tremendous appreciation the commendable roles played by the various Security Agencies under your able leadership in protecting the sanctity of the just concluded generally peaceful and successful 2023 Governorship and State Assembly Elections in Kano State.

"Your Command Sir, alongside other Security Agencies have combined forces to professionally ensure that the Elections were free, fair and credible.

"The dedication and commitment shown by all personnel deployed for the Election duties have proven that Nigerians can always rely on our security architecture to pilot every national assignment without getting compromised.

"On behalf of the entire membership of the KCCI, I once again express our gratitude, appreciation and commendation for a job well-done while assuring you of our highest esteem and regards.

"Please extend Kano’s gratitude to the Inspector General of Police for recognizing the importance of Kano and deploying his best hands and equipment used for the successful conduct of the elections.’’
