Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has commended the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, despite his loss at the just-concluded 2023 presidential election.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday morning, Iyabo Ojo described Peter Obi as a great man, stating that she is proud to have stood on the right path during the election.

She also urged other supporters of the former Anambra State governor to embrace peace and allow the appropriate legal process to take its course.

“I stand & re-stan strongly obedient whether Inec elects you, President, or not, sir Peter Obi you’re a great man..........

"I'm so proud & so happy that I stood on the right path & I will forever stand on the right path.

“Please, my fellow obedient, be calm, no one & nothing is worth dying for, we live to fight another day, so please embrace peace.

“Let's all allow the right people of the law to handle the case ?......history will never forget the #obidientmovement.”

Her post comes after the electoral commission, INEC, declared Bola Tinubu, the candidate of Nigeria’s ruling party, APC, as the winner of Saturday’s presidential election in the early hours of Wednesday in Abuja.

The former Lagos State governor defeated 17 other candidates who took part in the election.

He scored a total of 8,794,726 votes, the highest of all the candidates, thus meeting the first constitutional requirement to be declared the winner.

He also scored over 25 per cent of the votes cast in 30 states, more than the 24 states constitutionally required.
