2023 Elections: Zamfara APC Denies Defection Of Governor's A

APC/PDP

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Zamfara State Chapter says reports making round that some Special Advisers to Governor Bello Matawalle have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is false.

This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau by the state APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris on Friday.

“The attention of Zamfara APC chapter has been drawn to a few social media reports making the rounds that some prominent members have left the party to the PDP in the state.

“The report is completely misleading and a desperate move by both the PDP and the defectors to build a fake image.

“It will be good to clear the minds of Nigerians that Zamfara people are well informed about who those imposters are,” he said.

He clarified that those described as Matawalle's side served in the past administration.

“The three persons who deceptively posed as advisers, Alhaji Hamisu Magami, Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi and Alhaji Yunusa Rosy are not Special Advisers to Gov. Bello Matawalle.

“They only served as advisers under the immediate past administration of former Governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari."

Idris maintained that the ruling APC has continued to receive serving and former leaders of the PDP including candidates who were cleared to contest responsible positions in the 2023 general elections without lying to the good people of the state.

“It certainty amounts to cowardice, mischief, misinformation, lies and deception for one to claim what one isn’t, even if he or she had been there just in order to score a false political point.

Idris urged the members of the PDP to go and meet the electorate and campaign because smearing the APC through social media will not and cannot bring votes to them.
