The final list of the presidential and National Assembly candidates of all the political parties contesting the February 25 elections has been released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The final list of candidates (presidential, senatorial and federal constituencies) is pursuant to section 32(1) of the Electoral Act 2022 and item 8 of the Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2023 General Election.
It contains the full names and addresses of all nominated candidates and comes following the display of the personal particulars of all nominated candidates in their constituencies nationwide as provided by section 29(3) of the Electoral Act.
The published list comprises the names of candidates validly nominated for the elections after the parties' primaries and the time chosen for the withdrawal and substitution of candidates.
For the presidential candidates, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour (LP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) made the final list.
Also on the presidential list are Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu, presidential candidate of Zenith Labour Party and the running mate, Ramalan Abubakar, Dumebi Kachikwu presidential candidate, African Democratic Congress and his running mate, Ahmed Mani; among others.
