Pius Anyim
The former Secretary to the Federal Government and a presidential aspirant under the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim has met with Zamfara State delegates of the party ahead of the primary elections.
Anyim who met with the delegates in Abuja on Thursday promised to bring an end to the current security challenges in the state, if given the chance.
He was the Senate President when Olusegun Obasanjo served as the president of Nigeria.
While meeting with the Zamfara state delegates, Anyim lamented over the spate of killings in the state and other states in the country.
He added that if given the chance to lead Nigeria, he would harness the abundant natural resources in the state, making it the richest in the country.
While noting the uniqueness of the 2023 elections, he said Nigeria needs to be united in peace like never before.
He said, “For me as an aspirant, wherever I have worked, peace steps in, wherever I step in there is equity and fairness.
"I will make sure that the security of lives and property returns not only to Zamfara State but the whole of Nigeria. “
One of the delegates and chieftain of the PDP in Zamfara, Col. Bala Mande (Rtd) who spoke on behalf of the delegates expressed optimism that the former SGF could be trusted to deliver if given the opportunity.
