2023 Guber Poll: Tumfure Community Visits Yahaya, Pledges Ma

Ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial and state assembly elections, the people of the Tumfure community in Gombe State have visited governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya to show their solidarity with him.

The community expressed their support for the governor's re-election bid during the visit on Thursday. 

The community members who visited in their numbers included women and youths alongside elders and their traditional leadership. 

They appreciated the governor for addressing the perennial water scarcity, and awarding road projects and other interventions.

This was disclosed in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, spokesperson to the governor.

According to Misilli, speaking in order of representation, the leader of the elders' forum in the community, Alhaji Yelwa, said they were at the government House to express their gratitude to the governor for standing by them.

He assured the governor of massive votes from the community in the forthcoming Saturday elections. 

In her remarks, the representative of women groups, Ladidi Mega, said following the developmental projects brought by the governor including the provision of water amongst others, men and women in the community who yarn for continuity have to vote for the governor again. 

Also speaking the representative of the youths, Usman Shongo, lauded the Governor for his administrative ingenuity without which he said, the progress so far recorded in the state will remain a mirage. 

Responding, Governor Yahaya appreciated them for the visit and assured them of more projects if they vote for him. 

He said the multi-billion naira water and road projects being executed in Tunfure are a clear testament to his administration's commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people. 

"To this end, the Governor announced a cash donation of 5 million naira, to the visiting members of the Tunfure community as well as 300 hundred pieces of wrappers for the women and another 300 pieces of shedda materials for the men.

"Other gift items to the visiting Tunfure community include one hundred bags of maize and one thousand cartons of pasta."
