2023 presidential aspirant and Nigeria's Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has stated that he doesn't owe anybody allegiance.
Osinbajo made the remark during his political consultations in Ogun State on Tuesday, adding that he owes no single person allegiance outside his oath of office as his allegiance is to Nigerians.
"After all, I have learned, if called upon to serve the nation, should I say No? I have decided that I will run for office.
"I have sworn an oath to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is an oath to our people, our children, and the future of Nigeria. I owe nobody else any allegiance outside the oath", he said.
The vice president's comments come in the wake of claims that he betrayed his alleged godfather, fellow presidential aspirant, Bola Tinubu, by declaring for the presidency while his former principal is contesting for the same office.
