2023: Kaduna Deputy Governor Calls For Support For Female As

Dr. Hadiza Balarabe

Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, has urged women in the state to come together and support all female candidates who are capable in the forthcoming general elections.

Dr. Balarabe made the call on Tuesday when she received some female aspirants vying for various elective positions under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party in Kaduna State.

According to the Deputy Governor, women in government currently did not get there because they are women but because they have the capacity, capability and dynamism to perform.

Balarabe said she always dreams to see women aspiring to hold positions of leadership that will give women the opportunity to sit at the table and make decisions as they constitute about 50 percent of the total population.

“I think the time has come for us to make up our minds to support one another”.

Adding that “It is the time to see that we are one, no matter where we are coming from, we should stand under one roof and be united to support one another,” she added.

She noted that “whatever it is, if a woman is there, people will always support them, I think we are starting somewhere, this is the time we need one another, we are all women we should look out for one another.

Her view echoes that of her boss, Governor Nasiru El Rufa’I who hinted at the possibility of a female Governor for the state in the next elections.

Earlier, the pioneer President of Kaduna APC Women Aspirants Forum, Vicky Boniface, said women aspirants have decided to unite under one platform, called Kaduna APC women Aspirants Forum for 2023.

“Not just to contest but also to network amongst ourselves to come up with ideas towards gathering an unprecedented number of votes across the state for our great party APC in the forthcoming General election in 2023”.

“We are confident we’ll deliver one million women votes for APC in the 2023 general elections”.

Boniface said she is also contesting for the seat of House of Representatives for Jamaa, Sanga Federal Constituency.
