Just a week before the gubernatorial election, Labour Party candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV) has proclaimed himself the people's champion, pledging not to let Lagosians down.
GRV (as he is also called) is up against the incumbent governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (a.k.a. Jandor) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Addressing his supporters and followers on Twitter, Rhodes-Vivour urged the electorate not to relinquish the power in their hands so that they can elect someone who is accountable on Saturday, March 18.

Calling himself the people's champion, he promised not to let them down while revealing his plan to carry them along.
"Lagosians do not relinquish the power you earned & fought so hard for, in the coming elections we have a rare opportunity to elect a Governor that is accountable to the people, brought in by the strength of their ideas & character, not by force, godfathers or monetary inducement.
"I am that politician, a people’s champion, I will not let you down and I will carry everyone along", the tweet reads.
