2023: Nigerians Tasked With Resisting Political Division By

Nigerians have been tasked with resisting division along the lines of religion by politicians in the forthcoming 2023 election. 

Citizens were advised to make concerted efforts to vote credible leaders that will move the nation forward.

The Chief  Executive Officer Jenkwe Global Resources Limited Simon Dolly gave the charge at the Nigeria Praise Declaration for peace organised by Christ Right Development Initiative and Christian Youth for Peace Initiative in Abuja.

Dolly stated that the issue of religion in politics is set to create uncertainty in the members of the public, adding that Nigeria needs leaders who can deliver on their mandate.

"We should not allow ourselves to be divided on the angle of religion, because the politicians are just doing that to set confusion among the members of the public.

"Vote for who you want, irrespective of religious affiliation. 

"Let us get a person that can lead this country out of this challenges and give us a new phase of life, we want a credible person it does not matter if he is from the North, South, East,or West.

"The wisdom of our leaders have failed us, the only person that can save this country today is God as the situation is getting terrible by the day.

"We are calling for God's intervention  as we have discovered that the country is no longer safe.

Former Governor of Adamawa State Bala James Nggilari, admonished politician to imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship to accept the outcome in elections.

"If you are contesting and did not win this time, do not scatter the system, hold on, your time will come, support those who are priviledged to have been appointed.

"There is enough for our needs but there isn't enough for our greed. We ought to know that we are all borne with different destinies.

"There is no greater country than this country, we should refuse to be distracted, let us love our country because there is so much God has given us.

"It is now on us to use these endowment  for the betterment of our country," he said.

Convener of the Praise Declaration, Pastor Fidelis Chukwuemeka on his part noted that the Nigerian battle is beyond human reach as God intervention is needed.

"We need God's intervention, and the only way to get this is when we praise him,praise to God moves him to fight.

"When we talk about sacrifice,this is an offering to appease an authority and a call for help. We are seeking divine intervention and the only way is to praise him.

"We need peace in our land to enable us have a successful election.

"Praise and worship is a unifying factor, we show to the world who we are. A way of showing we are the light of the world, not only of christians but other Nigerians as a unifier," he said.

The programme is to hold in the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
